I am a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) and I recently qualified from Bournemouth University. I have worked in the care and SEND field since 2011, undertaking various roles within these settings. My passion to promote independence in the people that I supported led me to completing my occupational therapy degree; I achieved this alongside working as a therapy assistant in a specialist education and residential/respite setting. My role as part of the OT team at The Sheiling Ringwood is to support the young people to manage their sensory needs, improve their fine and gross motor skills, increase their confidence in completing activities of daily living (ADLs) and removing barriers to their learning by adapting the environment around them to suit their own personal needs.
