Health & Therapies Team

Introducing our Health & Therapies Team.

  • Katie

    Head of Health & Therapies

I have been lucky to work within the SEND sector since 1998. I have been a support worker, teaching assistant and, after graduating from Bournemouth University in 2006, I have worked as a Registered Nurse (Child).

  • Margreet

    Eurythmy Therapist

Originally a primary school teacher, I have been a Eurythmy Therapist for the last 18 years.

  • Jenny

    Positive Behaviour Support Lead

I have worked in various roles within the SEND sector since 2004. I started my career as a support worker, then supported in the classroom as a teaching assistant. I gained further experience as the manager of a house for young people aged 7-14. In 2011, I achieved a degree in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (Hons) at the University of Kent – The Tizard Centre.

  • Kathy

    Arts Counsellor

I am a transpersonal arts practitioner. After working for 9 years in a Camphill school for children and young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States, I came to the UK to train as an arts counsellor at Tobias School of Art and Therapy.

  • Jessie

    Eurythmy Trainee

After graduating as a eurythmy teacher in 2005, I began teaching at St. Paul’s Steiner School (London) and Ringwood Waldorf School where I remained for 18 years.  I am currently enrolled in Eurythmy Therapy Training UK studying the ME in Eurythmy Therapy. I am reconnecting to a wish developed in my late teens to help others in wellbeing by strengthening and healing themselves through art. I especially enjoy the cultural and seasonal events and I enjoy contributing as eurythmist, speech artist and storyteller.

  • Martin

    Music Therapist

I am a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered music therapist, additionally trained in Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). I’ve been practicing for over 20 years and working at the Sheiling since 2014.

  • Susanna

    Occupational Therapist

I am one of the registered Occupational Therapists (OTs) working at the Sheiling. I qualified as an OT from Bournemouth University and have worked with children and adults with SEND since 2009.

  • Simon

    Occupational Therapist

I am a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) and I recently qualified from Bournemouth University. I have worked in the care and SEND fields since 2011, undertaking various roles within these settings. My passion to promote independence in the people that I supported led me to completing my occupational therapy degree.

  • Bobby

    Therapy Assistant

I have been working in the SEND field for more than 15 years, with the last two years being at the Sheiling.

  • James

    Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner

After graduating from Anglia Ruskin University in 2005, I have worked in the education sector both as a teacher and manager. I have experience teaching both children and adults in the UK, Spain and China. The social nature of this work led me to working within care settings and I have worked at the Sheiling since 2018.
