Dorset Deputies

An established group welcoming the Deputy Heads of Dorset Special Schools. The group meets three times a year to share good practice and experiences. The group also collaborates to maximise the effectiveness of working practice, successful initiatives and assessments.

 

Local Special School Moderation Group

This group was formed in 2015 and key staff from numerous local specialist schools join three times a year to moderate academic work. The aim is to maintain and support consistency and attainment locally.

The aims of the research are to:

• Explore current safeguarding practice in residential schools in relation to the prevention, identification,
  reporting of and response to child sexual abuse from the perspective of staff, children, parents and local
  authorities.

• Identify and share good practice in the prevention, identification, reporting of and response to child sexual   
  abuse in residential schools.
