We are looking for candidates who have a genuine passion for working with young people, who can consistently engage our students through praise, direction, and calmness. You will have the ability to work with initiative, resourcefulness, and passion in order to support our students.
You will have a B.Ed., or degree plus a PGCE or an appropriate teaching qualification (including QTLS) and have experience, enthusiasm, and a keen interest in the SEN education sector.
Our learner’s communication needs mean they are taught adaptive communication methods such as PECS, PODD, Sign-a-long, Objects of reference and a variety of Technology based methods that use tablets and iPads. Some of our learners’ present behaviour that challenges, we use positive behaviour strategies that are holistic in approach and maximise the use of our extensive natural environment.
You will be a class teacher for students ranging from Pre Entry Level, Entry 1, Entry 2, and Entry 3, for a group of approximately six students and leading a staff team made up of Teaching Assistants and additional support assistants.
You will have opportunity to access specialist training and build upon your professional skills, becoming a strong and flexible practitioner to meet the varying needs of our students.

We have a large, beautiful site with lots of open, green spaces and woodland that provides a peaceful, therapeutic setting and a dynamic teaching environment. Within the 50 acres are classrooms, student residential accommodation (large, spacious houses), a purpose-built therapy building, a multipurpose hall (with a large stage for performances), a gymnasium, a shallow heated indoor swimming pool, a variety of indoor and outdoor workshops and a large kitchen garden which provide ample opportunity for creative, experiential learning.
