Massage

The school has access to a Massage Therapist who works with individual students on an individual need’s basis. Pressel Massage and Bowen Technique are the named approaches used. Massage addresses the rhythmic processes within the body through metabolic and circulatory systems, strengthening the foundations were healthy body. Massage is designed to offer an energising and relaxing effect on students, many of whom we recognise experience underlying anxiety and tension arising from their needs and learning disability. Outcomes from massage therapy include:

  • Improved relaxation, reduced anxiety and therefore better capacity to engage in tasks and activities
  • Improved emotional wellbeing
  • Massage can complement work to support a wide range of health conditions. 

The learning taking place in the classroom. Therapist will complete therapy notes in line with their professional practice.
