Summer Fair Success

Thank you to everyone who came and supported us for our summer fair. The weather held off and a good time was had by all. We were happy to see several former students visiting. There was good food, music and lots of stalls and displays. Activities included go-karting... Over £2,500 was raised on the day!

Sheiling Runners Raising Funds for the School and College

On Sunday 8th June, several members of staff took part in 5K and 10K runs at Kingston Lacy, near Wimborne, to raise funds for the school and college. If you'd like to donate please follow this link: donate

The Sheiling School is built on the strength of relationships between students and between students and staff. In our experience what matters to children and young people and to their families is that they are happy, well, included in what is happening around them and able to engage meaningfully with the life of the school - in their house group, their class and in relation to the whole school community and beyond.

What the Sheiling School offers children and young people is:

  • a chance to find their place
  • the right environment in which to build confidence and skills
  • opportunities to increasingly take on more responsibility and independence

We achieve this by promoting a nurturing culture within which each student receives the right support, guidance and care relevant to their needs. We offer clear rhythms and routines to promote a healthy lifestyle, including good eating, sleeping and activity rhythms.

The school's natural and built environment is a rich resource to aid student's learning, leisure and wellbeing. Set in large grounds with play areas, woodland and plenty of open areas the school environment plays a key role in the student's development.

We encourage you to visit and see for yourself.

Our Mission Statement

To create an educational therapeutic community and environment, which upholds each person's human integrity and spiritual wholeness and where every child and young person, both because of and despite their individual challenges, has something to give and something to learn through all of their relationships with others.
